Australian Wilderness Artist
During the recent Mitchell School of Arts, we had the pleasure of meeting Robyn Collier as she was running a workshop in the room next door. The workshop was called Working with Water. As the week progressed the days became hotter… I really enjoyed popping into Robyn’s class as the art works depicted stunning water scenes. Some waves could almost be touched and I longed to dive into them!
ROBYN COLLIER is a painter in the realist tradition and is regarded as one of Australia’s finest wilderness artists. Her work is highly sought after for corporate and private collections alike both within Australia and worldwide.
Reef - Rottnest Island by Robyn Collier
Renowned for her portrayal of remote places, Robyn treks, flies, drives and even abseils into many of them. More frequently, Robyn has been concentrating on World Heritage areas within Australia, searching for the hidden gems that make her paintings so unique. The trademark of all her paintings is the capturing of spectacular light that few artists seem able to achieve.
Autumn Sunset by Robyn Collier
For twelve years Robyn had her own gallery in the Blue Mountains. Now she prefers to sell through her garden studio, auction and select galleries throughout Australia. She has held over 30 exhibitions, has won multi awards and appeared on five television shows. She has published many articles on painting and appeared in print, calendars and cards.
She is now selling limited prints and is also conducting select workshops. You can also catch up with Robyn at the Mitchell School of Arts in Summer 2011.
Robyn’s philosophy is simple – to reflect the awesome beauty of nature in her paintings. Enjoy the striking realism of Australia’s wild places on canvas – you won’t be disappointed!
