Judith White trained at the National Art School, gained a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Fine Arts through Sydney University, and is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute. Judith has been a practicing professional for 30 years with 38 solo exhibitions in Australia, and Japan.
Judith began her career working in pure watercolour. The use of collage in the early 1980’s was a consequence of her work addressing political issues such as tourism and the environment. Several journeys to the desert regions, revolutionised Judith’s painting process to include working in a large scale on canvas. Her process however, has always relied on the fluid wash and transparency of pure watercolour techniques.
Major commissions include, the Olympic Co-ordination Authority, Walker Corporation, Southern Pacific Petroleum/Central Pacific Mineral P.L., JLW Sydney, Attorney General’s Department of NSW, and in 2004 Judith was commissioned to complete a major work for the refurbished Hilton Hotel, Sydney.
Judith has won over a dozen major awards including the Mosman Art Prize twice, the Magaret Fesq Memorial Art Prize twice, the Manly Art Prize, The Maitland Art Prize and in 2004 the Fleurieu Peninsula McLaren Vale Prize.

Judith is holding a three day "Mixed Media Masterclass" at Shepparton, Victoria
Saturday, 31st October to Monday, 2nd November
This is a workshop for self-directed artists who would enjoy the opportunity to work at their own pace under the guidance of the tutor on a one-to-one basis.
Concurrently, projects and exercises will be set to stimulate the imagination and group interaction. An important aspect of the workshop will be to promote your own visual language, consistency and direction. The three days could be an opportunity to work on a specific project, or be inspired and guided in a different direction. Ideas such as scale and format, working in a series, multiple work for installation, and aspects of exhibition in competition and the commercial gallery system will be discussed.
