Workshop review: Contemporary Acrylics Workshop with Larissa Blake
I’ve always admired Larissa Blake’s work, especially the colour and vibrancy she captures in her paintings, so when I found out that she was running this workshop at the Art Est Art School in Leichhardt, I knew that I didn’t want to miss it.
The rooms at the Art Est Art School are large and well-lit and each person is supplied with their own easel and plenty of space to spread your paints and brushes on. This was certainly appreciated. There is also plenty of parking on site. Read more > |

- Tips For Artists - Painting in a Series
In college, I majored in art, fully expecting to live my dream of being a painter. However, reality set in during my senior year. I would need to feed myself after I graduated and I was deathly afraid of becoming one of the classic "starving artists". I decided to take some graphics classes and left art behind for a 25-year career in advertising.

Chit Chat
Teresa's battle with the motor sports park proposal drags on but early in March her neighbour was driving home from work and spotted a Koala in a tree just outside their property. This was just wonderful as although there have been many spottings of koalas in the area over the years no one has an actual photo. So here it is - proof of koalas living in the area proposed to become a motor bike park.
This past month Teresa has enjoyed working with oil pastels and has completed a couple of plein air works. The first painting is of a mangrove river system in Bryon Bay and the second was inspired by the dunes and the sound of Culburra Beach. Teresa would love to have some further tutoring in oil pastels so if anyone out there loves them as much as Teresa, please contact Teresa.

Stephanie is looking forward to some time off over Easter with the intention of consolidating the painting process she has learnt from Larissa Blake.
Enjoy a safe and relaxing Easter break.
